SOFT FAUNA 5 | OOTD

This outfit was thrown together in seconds, it was a grab what you can sort of day. Cliche scenario...my room it being redone (hope you like the colour by the way!) so finding things was a challenge. But I was so glad to have got the chance to wear my beloved black juju's, and to pair it up with this pretty dark floral tea-dress. It was a while since I wore these types of looks, and forgot just how comfy and elegant they look. Especially with this dress, its light weight yet looks rich + bold. Which is why I chose to wear it to the beach that day and need I say it was a perfect match for a day at the beach indeed!

FRAME OF MIND

Some people enjoy the odd keeping up with the 'latest trends' and things of those sorts, but we can only do so much!! As you may have heard, fashion never sleeps... well that's what they tell me... and I believe its true. Therefore making the 'keeping up' part not so easy at times.
The way fashion inspires me is through stopping and looking around, focusing on the little things our eyes might have glanced over. Fashion is all around us in many peculiar ways. So this is where I come in to hopefully give you a helping hand in admiring fashion a little different to what we normally take it for.
I gathered here not images, but what I feel are inspirational depictions of raw fashion. I'm bringing things back to basics... our surroundings, feelings, passion, all things basically to do with life. And I hope you can see a connection/link to fashion though it. Yes, it might be an odd way to look at things but whats the right way? The beauty about fashion it that you control it, your in power and without you there's nothing.... So moving on from the dark side, enjoy my collection/ mood board that I created + gathered over summer from my tumblr account {ModeBuzan} amazing what things you can find there!! I thought it would be a fun and diverse way to receive your daily dose of fashion.

Another random yet serene video I found.. enjoy !!

KAT VON D + TOO FACED | MAKEUP REVIEW

I'm so excited to finally talk about two products I was dying to give a try for quite a while. I'll start off with the Kat Von D Monarch eyeshadow palette.... and yes its as great as it sounds!
When browsing around Sephora I happened to catch a glimpse of the Kat Von D section and couldn't take my eyes off after that. She certainly did an amazing job on presentation. The packaging designed by herself is so beautiful and represents each product individually, which made them more unique and desirable to buy!

I however chose this palette for a list of reasons:

Quality / Flawless and creamy, I've never seen an eyeshadow palette built so attentively. The moment I was testing and swatching I knew effort and work went into the palette to reach the highest standards possible, later on to find out that the eyeshadows consists of antioxidant complex that Protects the delicate eye area from free radicals, rose extract that softens and moisturizes the skin & vitamins A, C, and E which nourish and hydrate the eyelid. Knowing this I was defiantly impressed as I never heard a palette including so many caring substances for the eyes.

Colour / The pigmentation is crazy! I found there to be no need to swatch these colours on my hand, as what you see is what you get. I was skeptical that the eyeshadows where either light or the shade would come out a different. But I should have known, its Kat Von D we're dealing with. Her Whole collection is highly pigmented and has a heavy coverage. The look I was going for was light, that only goes to show how rich these colours are. And the best bit is, it suits all eye colors. It has a bit of everything for everyone. So if you wondering whether or not these shades compliment you for whatever reason, I'm telling you that is so beautiful and versatile that eye colour won't matter at all.

Versatility / As you can see the palette has 3 bigger shades, I loved them as highlights on the face it looked flattering and non- over the top. I'm not a fan of simmer but with a light hand you can achieve a pretty and glowy look. I also used the matte browns for contouring and can I say wow , I never saw a product look so natural before. It looks soft and easy on the eye and in my opinion untraceable.

Packaging /  So pretty so Kat Von D! The palette as small and dainty enough to travel. And as I've mentioned before versatile which makes this product heaven for those on the go! For those wondering about the design she chose, the butterfly is a symbol of rebirth and renewal.

My second product is the Too Faced Air Buffed BB Creme... wow mouthful ! But worth it... love love love this product. Want a natural, flawless and youthful look ? It does it all, but one thing to mention in achieving that look, time is required in return unfortunately as the application brush that comes with the BB Creme is quite small but does a great job! So what I would suggest is using your own brush preferably the buffing brush as it glides the cream evenly and flawlessly on the face. If not then an extra 2 min won't harm.

Reasons I love this product :

Quality / Silky soft and powdery 'to the touch' feeling. Straight away telling me its a rich BB creme. It's unbelievably soft and leaves a clean feeling on the face, but without clogging the pores.. thank goodness for that ! It not only looks good but makes me feel good as I get quite the compliments wearing this. People saying I look less tired, and my face looks very natural without the trace of makeup.

Colour / Surprisingly I'm the lightest ! I'm usually 2nd -3rd lightest. I'm in the shade snow glow, which adapts amazingly to my skin as it is a BB creme and not a foundation.. I have to keep that in mind. It's strange how much this product being a BB creme gives such high coverage for one, yet leaving the feeling of a powder ! Once again Love !

Packaging / Overall easy to carry around size wise. It's Durable in-case of dropping, as it's made from a hard acrylic. And looks very chic and dainty with the application brush attached to it. Which by the way is made from cruelty-free teddy bear hair. You gotta love it!

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN FALL 2014 - 2015

Where to start... This had to be one of the most hardest post to put into words. I'll simply start off by saying this fall line without a doubt blew me away. From the colour scheme , material used , choice of scenery.. it all linked together beautifully. At first seeing the collection I thought a lot was going on.. but without being over the top? I hope I'm making sense. The line was exquisite and the presentation just as breathtaking. I love how they told a story through the fashion show by starting with bold dark colours and gradually moving on to the holographic glitter pieces then beautifully ending with the innocent whites. It's as if they were blooming into beauty.
The vibe that's jumping to me is Lolita mets folk. Its amazing how one can make Victorian folk look like haute couture. They took the heavy draping, lace and faux fur to their advantage and used it one step further.

What really grabbed my attention were the colours, many things did but I couldn't take my eyes off the garments because of its warm and mystical tones. Each and every gown brought something extraordinary to the table.  The colours were rich and vibrant without being center of attention. It looked feminine & gorgeous on the models and fitted in well with their pale skin (and proved anyone... even fair skin can rock whites).
Black, grey, white, deep purple and teal are the colours defiantly to be reckoned with this fall.

And can we please take our time to acknowledge the materials used ?! I just can't describe how perfect the combinations are. Only Alexander McQueen!
The textures are heavy yet have a gentle flow to them, which gives the illusion of gracefulness and poise. And the length of the gowns help define that, with the help of the turtle necks or either open v necks.
The faux feathers & leather will look perfect for fall. It sits well on any body type and any looks cute for all occasions! Paring it with something just adds class, it always looks rich, bold and in fashion & should be given a try this fall.
One of my favorite details from the line has to be the sun & moon cut out design. It looks young and innovative and you can't go wrong with a pattern like this.
And to top everything off I adored the hand jewelry... bringing what we had back!.... but better! Its very flattering and elegant to wear, I know its something I'm trying anyway!

I gathered a few pieces here that I thought would be a good guideline for you when trying to buy for fall. Black and white is a must and soft, flowery , feathery , and most important faux fur are key when trying to achieve the Alexander McQueen fall look. And as for shape either a floor long gown or a cupcake shaped dress, this is what gives us the doll like aura. And try find something that covers your neck this gives you the sweet and girly look.

I hope this quick post helped you gain a bit more insight on whats hot in the fashion world right now.
More of these to come !
