THE FESTIVAL LOOK

One of my favorite things I love to see during summer is the festival fashion ! It's an absolute craz fest out their, literally. Everyone wearing multi-patterns, clashing textures... basically whatever comes to mind. The beauty about festivals of all sorts is that there are no limits to what you can wear, the more random the better! It almost looks like you took a time machine back to the 60's but the outfits have a modern twist to them. I don't know what it is that attracts everyone to the boho and hippy look for festivals, anyway whatever it is... I'm always a fan and the look never loses it's touch! No matter what combo your wearing in your outfit, if it has at least 3 patterns and 2-3 textures then your good to go!

Some of my fav festival style queens consist of Kendall Jenner, Vanessa Hudgens ,and Kylie Jenner. From what I'm seeing they sure know how to rock the boho look with a chic touch ! They create these beautiful simple and young looks all with minimal pieces. I always find this to be the best method to flaunting any look. If in doubt try white with a pop of colour and a lot of accessories never goes wrong.

Some of my favorite shops to buy festival pieces are from : Boohoo, NastyGal , Romwe , Topshop , ASOS and River Island. At the moment they're all defiantly impressing me with their clothing line and should be given a look at! Don't forget to try local charity shops or thrift shops, they always seem to have the daintiest things and would look just as great as any other clothing you would buy.

Not a lot is required in achieving the laid back look. Use these steps when building out your outfit looks :

-Colours : Try and go for opposites, the colors clash and create a very dramatic look, perfect for summer in the sun. But if you want to go for an more chic yet tasseled look, try wearing white.. and I mean everything white, it looks beautiful no matter what I promise !

-Patterns : This will be easy .... whatever suits your fancy ! The more you mix and match your style, the more trendy it ends up looking.

-Textures : My favorite part! Try and go for sheer pieces to add depth and layering to your look. Crushed velvet or any type of velvet, it's very gypsy like and never fails to look bad! Lace is a must and looks beautiful when used as a light cardigan. And finally embellishment adds class and bling to any look  with or without accessories.

Have Fun!

WHAT'S IN MY MAKEUP BAG? | NEW YORK EDITION

From the title most can tell that I'm heading to NYC! As a first timer I'd like to be extra prepared (as anyone would) and hopefully not forget anything. I'll be posting quite a bit about my trip, from makeup, buys to daily outfits...I'll try and range the variety and hope that I'd helped you based on my experience, no matter where the destination is! I've thought long and hard on where to start packing!.. And for me skin care is a must, at the moment New York is hitting the high 30's mixed with mid humidity.. I know not a great mix for the skin. With that said I've picked minimal makeup with me, because firstly it's NYC a bit of impulse buying on the makeup is a must (without a doubt ) and secondly, it's summer I want my skin to breath and soak in the sun! So lets get straight to it I'll be showing you my must have items for summer, and I'll be explaining my views and opinions on them to.

Face
 1. MAC Matchmaster Foundation : This foundation is thick and pigmented enough to act as both your concealer and foundation. It's convenient enough were you can apply with you fingers, brush, sponge, whatever suits you best. And I look for that in foundations as it's very important when it comes to traveling, you might like to give your face a touch up during fights or in the airport without much hassle. This foundation also has SPF 15 so it protects the skin form the sun, it's an easy application due to the consistency and it adds a small amount of dewiness to the skin giving you that natural look also a bonus as it won't dry your skin out.

2.Bourjois Happy Light base serum (luminous and flawless complexion) : It's key in securing any look your going for. Also a great mix with the MAC Matchmaster Foundation as it tones down the matte side and brings out your inner glow without shimmer. It looks beautiful in the sun and won't have your foundation slip and slide all over the face. A must have for people with dry skin because it moisturizes leaving your skin feeling soft and bright, making foundation application much easier.

3.Gosh silky cream blusher stick : This product is discontinued be can be achieved with any other powder blush, cream stick blush, liquid stain etc. This tangerine colour gives anyone that pop of colour, it can either be subtle or if feeling spontaneous you can go all out. This is one of those handy products where no brushes are needed and its also multi-functional. Because it has gold shimmer running through it lighlty add it to your décolleté or your collar bone to add that extra glow to your skin.

4.Rimmel Stay Matte powder : No need to go all on this one. Any form of powder will do, pressed preferably as the last thing you need is loose powder spilling everywhere. But if need be transfer it into a steeper container (less prone to getting messy). Also pressed powder saves space depending on the packaging. Pressed powder can be a tricky one when it comes to hot weather. You don't want it to crease up. So a little trick is to gently press the powder with a flat application sponge or lightly press it with your brush. This method is more prone for your look to last longer. Another suggestion would be to use rice paper tissues, these babies work wonder especially when traveling. Easy to carry, cheap to buy, and quick to use. Just tap around you t-zone and your good to go!

Lips
1.Catrice lipstick in 'Princess Peach' : I know right... quite a loud colour. This isn't so much of a new product, but is strangely coming back in trend... Orange, is the new black they say! Beautiful on all skin tones. It almost alters with what shade of skin you have. It's a fun colour with amazing pigment payoff, leaving your lips moisturized and fabulous! It one you must try, if feeling skeptical though use it as a stain by lightly dabbing the lipstick on then tap the excess off with your finger. It looks great either way.

2.Seventeen Lipstick in 'Bella' : One of my favorite nudes non pale and mutes out your lips into  a smooth light brown shade. Its very creamy and easy to apply, no mirror needed (yes that easy). It's a staple in my bag and would look beautiful with a strong eye makeup for summer. I almost forget that its a lipstick because of it's texture. I would highly recommend this lipstick and shades like this to people who feel that colour isn't there thing or for those who are just getting starting with makeup. One that will not disappoint.

3.No.7 Liplicious in 'Marshmallow' : I'm not so keen on lip glosses at all but this one had me hooked. It's long lasting, non drying and looks stunning! I can't wait to pair this with my lipsticks, doing this always brings your look one step further. At times enough to skip a heavy eye look . A tip to note : bring mini testers along, ones that you always receive but forget to use (Like myslef). They're perfect for on the go during summer.

Eyes
1.Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes : The reason I'm loving this mascara is for it's convenient size and for it's signature doll eyes I'm left with! (well close to them). It's rare when I find a mascara that curls my lashes as I apply, and I'm not one to use an lash curler... and to say that I'm left with long curled and thicker lashes, that tells you something. It's great for when you want you eyes to do the talking that day! A lazy day basically. Convenient, quick to use and trust worthy...what more does a girl want?!

2.Gosh Waterproof Eyeshadow in 'Love That Champagne' : I think the perks are in the title 'Waterproof'. This is a must have to look out for if your going to be near a pool, in the sun all day or you just want a long-lasting makeup look. The shade is very soft and light, the packaging best depicts the colour. I love eyeshadow sticks because once again, no brushes are needed and will look more natural when blending with fingertips. It's easy to apply and to mix'n'match with other colours.

3.Essence Colour Flash Volume Mascara #2 and #5 : I've always been a fan of this brand and they never seem to let me down. And when I saw these mascaras I couldn't help but grab some! To be honest this is my favorite product I that I bought all year ! It sticks to what it says on the label, 'Volume' and lots of it, and its so easy to apply more coats if needed. You can even use them in your hair! looks great for a crazy change. The colours are extremely pigmented and look so surreal when worn.. It's defiantly an eye stopper!

4.Essence Mono Eyeshadow in 'go glam' : Perfect for those days when needing an extra punch of colour. This is a very unique shade, it has under tones of lilac and a high quality of matalic purple. I love to use this all around my eye and have some smoked out in the crease simple yet fresh. What I love most is the way it seems to bring out the colour in the eyes.  People say purple suits green eyes. Well for this shade, I say it suit all!

5.Bourjois Eyeshadow in 'Turquoise Ensoleille' : There was no doubt that I wasn't bringing this with me . As many of you know these shadows last all..day..long! All that's needed is an eye primer or a damp eyelid (that way you'll get to see the colour come to life).  It's dainty because of the mirror and small eyeshadow applicator you get with it. This shade is so enchanting and reminds me of mermaids and mystical magic! as strange as that sounds. Flawless and beautiful for summer.

6.NYC High Definition Liquid Liner : This is for those days when eyeshadow just isn't enough. I'll add a small winged liner to do the job. I would recommend this product to those would would like to try out a wingeld look but finds brushed and dealing with gel liner to much. This pen liner is
super easy for pros and non pros.

7.Rimmel Soft Kohl Eye Liner Pencil in 'Jungle Green' : Because I have green eyes I thought this would compliment any eye look beautifully as it would make your eyes stand out that bit more. It's very easy to smoke out and looks pretty when applied under the eye. Colours like this brings looks together and adds the finishing touches. Tip : Eye color + Eye colour shadow = Perfection!

8.Essence Eyebrow Designer 'No.2 Brown' : This eyebrow pencil is quick and easy to use a few light stokes fills in your brows naturally. And can be blended out even further with the small comb brush you get with the pencil. Although I love this pencil because of its strong long lasting preference. I have to say, colour wise they're a bit on the light side, I have Dark Brown hair and its quite light for my liking. But I never say no to change and it does look natural once applied lightly.

9.Urban Decay Palette : Need I say anymore. I think we all got to the stage where this palette can be found in every makeup lovers room. It's a big must have, creations with this palette are endless. I use this for my brows, eyes and to highlight my face. The colour payoff is amazing and the palette itself lasts a very long time! These colours are perfect for summer because of the bronze, purples, golds, and nudes. Its ideal for your summer looks!

LATEST CRAVE | ZIMMERMANN SS 2014

As summer progressed I've decided to catch up with the more haute couture side of fashion, I didn't neglected it but spent most of my time admiring the beautiful street fashion that always seem to blow my mind and never disappoints (how can it ?!). I love seeing the way people interpret high fashion into their own... but still keeping it modish! Back to haute couture I've spent most of my inspo time watching 'fashiontv' which is a brillant way of receiving your daily dose of fashion straight from the runway. It gives us a first hand experience of what it feels like to be around raw fashion. From designers, models to clothing they got you covered!

Then Zimmermann came along, as a first time viewer of their work I had to share their ideas and visions for what they see in spring/summer 2014. Flawless, easy and natural are the words that jump out to me when I watch their the runway show. Its young and powerful and has a lot of flattering flowy pieces that gives that extra feminine punch. But to take it up a notch they used matalics, blushes, and blacks together as the colour scheme. This combo is beautiful and what might be seen before, Zimmermann plays it diffrent and uses silks and sheer material instead. Its super easy to dress down or up and material like that never looks wrong on anybody, if anything accentuates.

This look is slightly girly but edgy at the same time, which for me is a must as I love a cute outfit but do like to dress it up with an edge! What also caught my eye was the detailing that might look too barring but when taking a step back looks elegant, and as you can tell elongates the body....
It can be anything from a flared shoulder, gathered side skirt, panel design, to layered wraps. All of these looks are effortlessly worn and don't look too over the top and has a 'non preppy look' to it. Easy and fun to try this summer !

From these looks you might think that a lot is going on, and wonder how to pick out key pieces. Its always good to start off with the colour scheme, like mentioned silver, blushes greys/blacks, lilacs are the main colours to pick out. Then shape, not everything is fitted which is perfect for summer as the last thing you need is to feel uncomfortable ! You need to feel invincible and free ! And from what I can see Zimmermann achieved just that.

Many brands are picking up this flowy / girly look and are defiantly getting a big thumbs up from me. Spot on colours and textures that are fabulous to wear this summer. They are beautiful on their own and loud when over layered, either way you'll be lighting up the streets with this soft yet haute couture style!

THE ORANGE POUT

Here's a little something that will brighten your day right up ! A luscious and fun approach to the 'pop of colour lip. The orange lip is a raving success, from John Galliano to Chanel this look has been loved and done by all. This is your chance to have fun and experiment with the so called 'OTT colours' and looks especially great for this summer.

  • A subtle and soft look can be achieved by lightly tapping the lipstick on your lips almost creating a stain then add a clear lip gloss or lip balm (of your liking) to your lips. This will just add a hint of colour to the look. And is great for those that don't want an overwhelming orange lip.
  • If your just feeling spontaneous line you lips and apply colour straight from the bullet, topping off with an orange lip gloss. This would defiantly bring any look together.

What caught my eye about this new revelation was that no matter what colour your eyes are or what shade of skin you have, it looks fabulous on all ! And the best bit is that you can alter the shade of orange to which one suits you best. The looks are endless.

  •  light skin - A bright orange colour with a yellow undertone compliments the lighter skin beautifully, making your lips pop with colour.

  •   Medium skin - Deeper creams and pastel oranges looks perfect making your look soft, hazy & elegant.

  •  Dark skin - Light orange and soft carols looks beautiful and brings out the colour in the look without being overpowering.
The best thing about an orange lip is that you can follow the rules, but breaking them and making the look your own is twice as fun and never goes wrong. Here are some long lasting and stunning shades of orange that you can try this summer. There's a shade for everyone!

SUMMER BLUES | OOTD

I'm in love with this look! I've been dying to give this outfit a go. Long fitted dresses are my new 'holy grail' clothing items for summer 14', as I'm quite tall and gives a poised and flattering look (as it would for anybody actually). You'll be seeing more of these outfits soon, as I can't get enough of them! Denim, leather, faux fur, kimonos... it all fits well with this type of a look. I kept it all simple because this look is more focused on key items, so our are eyes are directed to the statement pieces, more so then the look itself. I adore pairing almost anytime with large or retro sunglasses (as you can tell) it always adds the finishing touch to any look.Your statement piece can be anything you want really, pick something you love and create your look around it, by doing that everything will fall into its place. Pairing this look with a short overcoat brings out the more fun and girly side as for a long overcoat gives a more edgy and powerful look. Here I brought a bit of both by mixing and matching the colours, textures, and size of the clothing to my liking. There are so many variations of the 'laid back' look, and is one that you should definitely give a try this season !

DAINTY DETAIL

Finally its back but better! Pinks, blushes, yellows, blues, all topped off with metallics and embellishments. I adore this look! Its easy to dress up or down for any occasion. And the best part is... the more diverse the textures and colours are the better! This look brings life to any person giving them a more angelic aura to them. Its quite a girly outfit to be honest but it doesn't have to be... If your style is to have heavy accessories, mismatching colours, random overlays etc. This look would be a breeze to put together. What works best is when you don't follow 'the book' so to say. Making it your own gives you the look of confidence and elegance. This look is so versatile you can find it almost anywhere from River Island to Primark they all got you covered. And it's the best time to bring out your inner D.I.Y, make this your own little project, grab out your sewing needles (if not craft glue) and get creative. You never know what you might end up with.+ it's time to put those old bits an pieces you collected over the years (and never knew why) to use!

All brands are hyping about this look and are busy trying to come up with the next step to it. As you can see colours are only part of the look, what really makes it is the intricate details. This just shows us how free you can be with your choices, and that the embellishments are the main attraction to this look.

GET THE LOOK | LANA DEL REY

Reputations have changed along side with fashion, in this case Land Del Rey. Not only has she built herself from ground up but managed to achieve a high level of respect from doing what she does best. Lana is an outstanding singer and role model, she portrays a strong message through her lyrics, meet and greets and especially through fashion. She loves herself for who she is and cares less on what society have to say about that. And that's one of the many things I adore about her, shes true to who she is and what she stands for, making her unstopable. Freedom is her key to success.

Lana as we know tends to go her way or now way. She's one of the few that can rock the 60's beehive hair whilst pulling off a mauve lip and a french gel nail. Her style bends on the more mellow 60's rock look but knows how to soften that out with minimal looking dresses and skirts. We all know her iconic look and wonder where she gets it from, well... she has an obsession with the late Priscilla Presley. She almost try's to evolve her style around around her. And I gotta say she's nailing the look to its best, from the hair to the makeup Lana never disappoints.

Lana usually sticks to the blush, blacks, and blues colour palette for her outfits. She loves to keep things looking simple, effortless and different. For her usual daily look she would wear a washed out tee with shorts (or a flowing skirt) and lets not forget the converse.. Lana has a weakness for converse, leather jackets, denim, chunky heels and rock band t-shirts. I love the way she doesn't change for fashion, she shows us all that you can make it work no matter what you've got. Shopping for her looks can be found in Romwe, ASOS, River Island... the list is endless anything that screams indie or 60's has her name written all over it.

As you can see Lana's look is a mix of boho/60's/and soft rock. This look is perfect for everyone as it brings a feminine yet edgy side to your look, also giving you a non-dressed up vibe. Just remember to keep things to the minimal, and that goes for the accessories to. A staple piece will compliment the Lana Del Rey-esque look amazingly.

Lana loves her soft pinks, nudes, mauve's and of course a doll like eye makeup. She lets her makeup do the talking. In getting this look stick to the browns and nudes, skip the high shimmering shadows and only keep to the highlighting shades for the inner corners of the eyes, cupid's bow, the tops of your brows, and high points of your checks. The look your aiming for is a fresh and soft airbrushed look, (with a 60's aura to it obviously!)

SLACK VS SLEEK

Staying on trend is not as hard as you think. You don't need the latest shoes, jeans, jacket or any of that stuff to look modish. We'll call those things the guide line. The so called "on trend items" are in your wardrobe right now. The thing about fashion is that you control it, you're in charge. And that's the beauty of it. This look that I put together is just a typical grunge/simple look. Anybody can achieve it without even knowing it. What I have here is a collection of things you can swap around or mix and match to your liking. Slogan shirts of all sorts is the latest thing now (paired with an over-sized jacket), and its very versatile, they practically match with anything you have. This look is very flawless giving a sophisticated and edgy impression . To sum up the look pair a black pant with a slogan shirt and top it off with your favorite leather or denim jacket. And to give it an extra punch wear docs, vans, boots or anything that keeps you feeling comfortable. That's key to keeping any look effortless. And finally adding a simple staple necklace and shades pulls this look together.

Here are runways interpretations to the slogan shirt and "boyfriend jacket " or the over-sized jacket. Its very dainty to the eye but has a very powerful look to it. The whole look screams high-fashion and is something we'll be seeing quite often over the coming weeks.

As you can see high-street fashion looks can still be achieved by adding your own touches and personality into the outfit. The outcome looks more unique and soon you'll be starting a new trend.
